Wimbledon High School, an independent girls' day school in Wimbledon, had a visit from celebrity Chef, Monica Galetti on Friday 30th September. Monica talked to the pupils about her career as a female chef.

Monica, one of the best-known female chefs in London, is also a presenter and judge on BBC’s highly popular MasterChef: The Professionals.

Monica is also opening her first solo restaurant Mere, later this year in conjunction with WSH.

The evening was attended by the pupils and parents of the school and saw Monica hold a question & answer session, followed by an inspiring speech about her career as a woman in what is known to be a male-dominated industry. This event formed part of the school’s overall agenda to encourage pupils to become future business women and leaders.

During the summer term, the pupils compete in an annual MasterChef competition. The pupils who took part in this year’s the competition were invited to work alongside Monica to create some wonderful canapés for Friday’s event.

Chris Pearce, Operations Director for Holroyd Howe commented:
‘’It was so wonderful to see Monica give such an inspirational speech to the girls at Wimbledon High School. Our team at Wimbledon did a fantastic job, and it was lovely to see the pupils in the kitchen working alongside Monica to create beautiful canapes for their parents to enjoy!’’
